Rachel Weisz & Mila Kunis Get Into Fiery Argument Over James Franco!

Patty Feb 27, 2013

We at Buzznet are counting down the days until the upcoming Disney movie Oz the Great and Powerful makes its way to theaters! Luckily there have been new clips from the film to tide us over until then - like this one featuring witches Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Theodora (Mila Kunis)! The seemingly good witches have a bit of a tiff over Oscar (James Franco), resulting in Theodora to show her not-so-angelic ways... and ending in a fiery rage. Yikes!

Patty's Pick: 'Beautiful Creatures' Leaves You Spellbound & Wanting More!

Patty Feb 26, 2013

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the recent resurgence of supernatural teen flicks. I enjoyed Harry Potter just as much as the next person and I only watched the Twilight series just to be in the know - although, to be honest, I kind of dug the last movie! That said, I saw the movie Beautiful Creatures this past weekend out of curiosity and at my friends' urging. I was a little afraid it was going to TRY to be Twilight 2.0... and luckily, I was wrong!

There are some definite similarities: it's based on a book series, there are two teens who are in love and can't be together because, as El Rich says, "of reasons" and it's dark and there's powers at bay, etc . But that's where the similarities end!

Beautiful Creatures is set in the South and is a movie about a caster (translation: a witch) named Lena (Alice Englert) who will find out her "Am-I-a-Good-Witch-or-Bad-Witch?" destiny upon her 16th birthday... and the small-town guy named Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich) who falls in love with her. While it sounds like a cliched carbon copy of Twilight, the movie gets it right. For one, the girl is the one with the power, literally and figuratively. Lena stands her ground, and while it's Ethan who opens the movie, Lena OWNS it. Secondly, the characters actually speak like normal teens, with even a few current pop culture jabs here and there!

While the two leads are newbies, there's some serious star-power in the cast: Viola Davis nails it once again as Ethan's housekeeper; Emmy Rossum shows off her nasty and sassy side as Lena's dark witch cousin; and Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson steal the show as Lena's uncle and mother.

My gripe: the beginning went a little too fast for me. The background of the characters was a little too rushed, but it paved the way for the love story between Ethan and Lena... and it's really hard to hate on them! One of my favorite things about the movie? Since I didn't read the books that they're based on, the ending REALLY threw me off - the ending was the perfect twist!

*Patty's Pick: 3.5/5 stars

'The Carrie Diaries' Recap: Caught

Patty Feb 26, 2013

Last week's Carrie Diaries episode gave us a big look into Carrie Bradshaw's home life and relationships, but this week's episode is all about scandal. From a major secret reveal to not one but TWO breakups, last night's ep had us by the edge of our seats!

*Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not read further if you don't want to know what happened in last night's episode.

Carrie showed her true career colors while out with Larissa, impressing the Interview magazine editor so much she offered her a job! CB was caught in a pickle when she realized she'd have to quit her internship at the snoozefest of a law firm... the job her father got her. To break her dad's heart or to turn down the opportunity of a lifetime?

As if the pressure wasn't on enough, it was also the night of the big winter dance, where Sebastian (with Donna in tow) finally got to meet Carrie's hunky older BF George. Obviously Sebastian and Carrie still have feelings for each other, so you can bet their love story isn't over just yet! Carrie and George leave the dance and have a heated makeout sesh in his limo. George pressures her to sleep with him but Carrie doesn't have it, giving a very empowering speech on her decision to not hookup... and ends up breaking up with him. Go Carrie!

Speaking of breakups, Mouse and Seth become breakup casualty number 2 when they both realize their schoolwork has been slipping because of their relaysh and decide to split because of that. (Boo!)

In the end, the newly-single Carrie makes her decision, walking into the offices of Interview magazine like she owns it!

How long will Carrie last until Larissa finds out her age? Will Sebastian and Carrie end up together again with George out of the picture? Stay tuned to Buzznet for all your Carrie Diaries updates!

The Carrie Diaries airs Mondays on The CW at 8PM.

Whose breakup were you more bummed over: Carrie and George or Mouse and Seth?

BUZZNET Exclusive: James Maslow Back Again For More On 'See Dad Run'!

Patty Feb 19, 2013

When I first heard about the Nick at Nite show See Dad Run, I was pretty excited for it! After all, I grew up watching Scott Baio and loved Jackson Brundage on One Tree Hill. So when Buzznet sent me to the set of See Dad Run, I was beyond stoked! As if it couldn't get any better, Big Time Rush member James Maslow was reprising his role on the show as Ricky Adams that same day. Score!

In the episode, David's (Scott Baio) daughter Emily (Ryan Newman) runs for class president and competes for the position against the son of his enemy. She just may have an edge in the competition... with the help of Ricky (James Maslow), of course!

Watch our interviews with James, Jackson and Ryan below:

Tune in to See Dad Run this Sunday, only on Nick at Nite!

10 Reasons Why We Love Victoria Justice

Patty Feb 19, 2013

We just adore Victoria Justice! The former Victorious star won our hearts years ago on her Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 and, since then, she's been our girl. The sweet and stylish entertainer says goodbye to being a teenager and turns 20 today.

In honor of her birthday, here are 10 reasons why we love Victoria:

1. Her commitment to charity. She gives her time and effort to a number of charities, including Girl Up. Victoria just reached her goal of 20k for the charity, in which she promised to post a complete song.

Here's the video:

2. Her smile. It can light up a room!

3. She's super-sweet in real-life! We at Buzznet have done a number of interviews with Victoria and she's been nothing but a total sweetheart every single time!

4. She's open to trying new things. Her October 2012 movie Fun Size was her first major big screen role - and it's not going to be her last!

5. Victorious ruled! We're so sad it's over :(

6. She loves her fans. She even wrote an open letter to her fans (whom she calls "my friends") to explain the end of Victorious!

7. Her style. Best dressed? We think so!

8. We can't get enough of her YouTube videos! We look forward to her videos with Max Schneider and can't wait for the next one.

9. Her sense of humor. She's hilarious AND loves mustaches!

10. She rules at dancing... see?

What is your number one reason for loving Victoria Justice?

'The Carrie Diaries' Recap: Endgame

Patty Feb 19, 2013

If you you thought that the past couple of Carrie Diaries episodes weren't very exciting, the latest one entitled "Endgame" will definitely change that attitude! The Thanksgiving-themed ep delved deeper into Carrie's (AnnaSophia Robb) background and uncovered her relationship with her fam. Also, Sex and the City purists know that Carrie Bradshaw does NOT cook... and in last night's episode, we find out just why!

*Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not read further if you don't want to know what happened in last night's episode.

Nothing brings the family together better than the holidays, especially Thanksgiving! It's the first big holiday since Carrie's mom passed away and she's determined to make this one perfect. After all, Carrie remembers it being her mom's fave holiday. Can the gal who burned microwave nachos pull off cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner? Ha, of course not!

Carrie and her new beau George (Richard Kohlnik) have been getting closer by the day - and what better way to solidify their relaysh than meeting the family?! To her horror, Carrie's dad invites George and his dad (Scott Cohen, aka Gilmore Girls' Max Medina!) over for a turkey dinner for the big holiday. No pressure Carrie!

As hard as her big sis tries to make the holiday the BEST EVER, Dorritt does everything to mess things up, like ruining recipes, hiding cookbooks from Carrie and  even smokes pot in her room. Yikes! Naturally everything is a disaster: the turkey is burned and Carrie blows up at her dad. Oh, and the power goes out.

When it feels like everything has fallen apart at the seams, who shows up at Carrie's door but Sebastian (Austin Butler) who also had a crummy solo holiday. His cure: to spend time with Carrie and her fam. Looks like things aren't quite over between C and S!

The Carrie Diaries airs Mondays on The CW at 8PM.

Do you think Carrie will ditch George for Sebastian?
