Is Robert Pattinson Perfect for 'Idiot' Role?

Thank goodness that VH1's Pop Up Video has made its comeback! Without the uber-fun (and often educational) music video trivia program, we probably wouldn't have guessed that Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong thinks that Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson would make the perfect male lead in the movie version of the Broadway hit, American Idiot. 

According to the Pop-Up Video for Green Day's "21 Guns," Billie Joe Armstrong said that Rob is his first choice to play the lead in the movie version of their Broadway musical American Idiot, reports RPattz fansite Robstenation. In a 2009 interview with Spinner, when asked about casting the musical for a possible big screen adaptation, Billie Joe responded with:

"I'm gonna say maybe that kid in 'Twilight' [Robert Pattinson]. He's a good actor. There's still more to come with that kid."

Seems like Billie Joe is a fan of RPattz - and considering that the interview was from 2009, Billie was onto something! 

RPattz on Broadway? That's an interesting thought!
