Christina Aguilera may have grown up with old friends Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake as pre-teens when they were all Mouseketeers on the Disney Channel's MMC, but the 31-year-old diva is clearly not a big fan of their music! When talking about working with famed Swedish songwriter Max Martin on her new album Lotus, X-tina wasn't shy about what she thought of Britney and JT's music.
On working with Max, she said: "I'm not sure we would have been able to create the same music had we connected earlier. He did all the Britney and N'Sync songs, and I was doing something a little more daring. But we've gained respect for each other."
Apparently Christina wasn't a fan of Britney's and Justin's poppy music and admits she finally gained respect for Max. Wow! She continued saying that pop music is "lacking creativity" and "dishonest."
"I don't really push myself to have those formulaic commercial successes," she said. "It's dishonest and it starts lacking creativity. I embraced being a pop artist, but I like doing it on my own terms, at my own pace."
Christina clearly doesn't like her "Genie in a Bottle" days, saying that she was "molded" to be something she didn't truly believe in. Yikes!
"I had been pigeonholed as formula-pop driven, or molded or forced to be something I didn't feel was true to me," she added. "I was labeled from Genie in a Bottle."
